Our Favorite Art Galleries Around Seneca Lake

The wine, the landscapes, the people -- it’s no wonder why artists love to get away to the Finger Lakes for a little inspiration! If you’re feeling like indulging your creative side on your FLX trip, we’ve got a few recommendations for hotspots where you can check out the local art scene. Not only do these destinations showcase incredible artists, but they’re also known for amazing wine, stunning views, and great locations that can fit in perfectly with the other stops on your itinerary. We know you’ll find something special to take home and remember your trip by!

Franklin Street Gallery and Gifts

Located in downtown Watkins Glen, this gallery hosts more than 50 regional artists and provides workshops, classes, and live events throughout the year. Inside, you’ll find artwork, sculpture, prints, pottery, jewelry, and more, plus an incredible team of folks who run the gallery from The Arc Chemung-Schuyler, an organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities.

Quintus Gallery

Artist Kathleen Quinn-Matus showcases her original works of art, along with other national and international artists, in this cozy gallery located in Watkins Glen. Be sure to ask about their boating and art package!

Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars

This winery on the east side of Seneca doubles as an art gallery, rotating local artists' works throughout the year. You’ll find artwork across a variety of mediums plus stunning views of Seneca Lake.

Leidenfrost Vineyard

Another winery with a rotation of local artists on display, Leidenfrost has a cozy tasting room that’s open year round and is just minutes away from our vacation rentals in Burdett. It’s one of our most popular recommendations to our guests!

Salmon Pottery

Mary Ellen Salmon’s studio, gallery, and small pottery school in Trumansburg is a great stop on your FLX trip if you’re looking for heirloom pieces you’ll be proud to display at home.

State of the Art Gallery in Ithaca

While not directly on Seneca Lake, this gallery in nearby Ithaca is a must-see! Here, you’ll find pieces from artists from throughout upstate New York, curated professionally and chosen for their exceptional quality.

Arts Center of Yates County

Located in Penn Yan, this gallery is a favorite on TripAdvisor and showcases a diverse range of local and regional art. They also offer wine tastings, live music, and arts education programs.

These are just a few of our favorite art stops, but you’ll also find local artists in many of the region’s gift shops, restaurants, and markets or at festivals like the Keuka Arts Festival (June/July), Ithaca Festival (June), or Corning GlassFest (May).
